The Eye of Argon: The Missing Pages

Back in the '70s, 16-year-old sci-fi geek Jim Theis tried his hand at writing a swashbuckling adventure novel in the style of Conan the Barbarian. Unfortunately, his story, The Eye of Argon, was so terrible that it has been read ever since as an example of bad writing. Some years ago I managed to get my hands on an original copy of The Eye of Argon, complete with the original spelling errors and Napoleon Dynamite-style illustrations. Since then, David Langford has uploaded a scan of the original, but it has some omissions. One is a poem called "Iyck" by Jay T. Rikosh, who illustrated The Eye of Argon and makes a reference to his poem on one of the pages. The other is an account of a sci-fi fan club meeting written by Jim Theis. It provides more evidence that his instantly recognizable, comic-book-monologue writing style really was unintentional and not just a parody of clumsy writing.
